Downloadable Materials

February 14, 2007

I have added a link (see blogroll IEL Resources) where you can find soft copy of most of the materials assigned to the course.  It links to a page in the College of Law web site.  It is fastest when you are within the domain of the College of Law.

We will have regular classes on tuesday, february 5 and a make up class on february 9.  Our class on February 5 will discuss special and differential treatment (session VI).  Your essays for session VII will be due on Tuesday, february 9

Our classes for this week was cancelled due to a meeting with UP Officials at the Executive House.  I now owe you two extra sessions.  In the meantime, the assignments this week will be carried over to next week. You do not have to submit a new essay on the Agreement on Agriculture.  I suggest you take the time to continue reading on the subject.

The assignments for the next week (on special and differential treatment) will be posted by Saturday, January 19, 2006.

Rules for Weekly Essays

November 28, 2006

Essay Requirement for International Economic Law

All students enrolled must compose a one to two page critical essay on any or all of the assignments for each scheduled weekly session.

A critical essay assumes that the readers have already read the same articles.  Students therefore should avoid summarizing or paraphrasing the contents of the material being commented upon.  Instead, the essays should articulate well through out reflections on any ideas contained in the assigned readings.

The essay must be submitted electronically on or before 12:00 noon of every Monday.  This must be posted as a reply or comment to the corresponding page created for that session at leonen2007.wordpress.com.

A hard copy of the essay should be physically filed with the College Secretary’s office on or before 8:30 am of Tuesday.

Students should keep electronic copies of all their submissions including relevant evidence to show that they have submitted on time.
